This window unit has been in use for 7 months, I bought it from a person who had never used it and it had been sitting in the original box/sealed for a year. I tried the heat and cool when we installed it just to be sure it worked right. Cools great no issues there. I switched to Heat this week for about 4 hours one morning, no issues. But the next time I turned on the heat the red light indicating heat came on as did the fan, but no heat. Breakers were not tripped, reset on the cord is fine, I’ve turned the temp up to 80 and left it run to see if it just needed time to adjust, nope.. Everything woks great except no heat.
18,000 btu ac / 16,000 btu heat . There was only a one yr warranty and the unit sat in a garage through that time frame. This is not a heat pump it’s an electric heat unit.
Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm not seeing this model number in a couple of search engines, double check that number... Generally there's a thermostat, limit switch, and the heater element in a window unit heating circuit... But without seeing a diagram I can only guess... cheers

The correct number is FAM18ER21A ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/Pr..._PDF/Edison/63611711.pdf This is the schematic for it, shows a relay, thermal limiter, fusible link, as well as heater element. Any one of those could be bad. Trixie may need a pro. :)
