Hello All,
First off I pretty much know nothing about appliance's, with that being said I have a Tappan gas stove and when you turn on the oven, it will lite, but not stay lit. In the oven is a ( I think it's called a thermostat ) a long slender rod thingy that connects to the over control by a copper wire. I believe this may be the problem, from talking to other people, but I would like a semi professional opinion before I lay out a $ 100 plus for a part since I'm temporarily unemployed. Or your thought's on what else it may be. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks Kevin

If it recently started this I would start with the basics. Check the burner bar to see if it is dirty or has any debris in the burner. If no help, start checking the electrical parts with an ohm meter. There are several posts on the forum for testing components. Nat

Thanks Nat,
I'll check the burner, but I don't have a ohm meter, and I wouldn't know what other electrical components to check, like I said I don't have any real appliances skills, just a unemployed joe trying to save a buck.:) But thats for the info, I'll check some of the other post.
