I have a dryer that will not run when you turn the start knob. On the timed dry cycle the timer makes a small noise when you turn the start knob but the drum does not turn. My thought is the motor is gone but there nay be other components that would prevent the motor from turning. Does any one have the specs and protocol for testing the timer unit and motor or any other part you feel might be causing the problem? I would like to test before I start throwing parts at it. Thanks, Jon

It was the thermo sensor on the back of the case that shuts down if it gets too hot. This one didn't work so the motor would not run. A $10 part and up and running.

Thanks. I'll operate this week and let you know how it goes. I truly appreciate you taking the time to respond. Cheers.

Took the whole thing apart. Thermostat tested good so I was flummoxed. Vacumed the dust and lint out. Put it back together and presto...it worked!
My dryer is stacked on the washer on the forth floor of a tiny town house in a Tiny closet. Why is the damn cover/ front so hard to take on and off?
Thanks for the help...!!!
