Hi there. I am looking for some help putting my door handle back on. It is a simple Admiral electric range from approx 1980 with the model # p7n84795. One of the screws fell off and I believe might still be inside the oven door because I wasn't able to find it. I'm not sure how to take the door off the body of the oven or how to disassemble the door to reattach the screw. Also if I need to replace the screw would it be possible to tell me what size to get? Thanks so much for any help.

Boodah,

We don't have any information going that far back.

And I can't pull up any information with that model number.

I hope this might help ?

A) Open the oven door to the Broil stop (2 to3 inches) and grasp the sides
of the door and lift up, if you have a basic door hinge it should slide up
and off the hinge arm

B) If you get the door off the hinges, put the door on a flat coverred
surface.

C) Around the outer door panel you should find screws(usually 2 on the top
and at least 2 on the bottom, sometimes 1 or 2 on the side(s) of the
panel), Remove all the screws.

D) After all the screws are removed, you should be able to carefully
separate the door panels, and find the screw you lost, rattling in the
door panel,

E) Reverse the procedure after you reinstall or replace the handle screw(s).

*** If the dismantling of the door works, you should probably go to a hardware store and get 2 screws (one size larger if the handle hole is distorted) and I used 2 flat washers and 2 lock washer to keep the screws from loosening up and falling out again. ***

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
