Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 9/16/2008(UTC) Posts: 3		Wife's robe belt is wrapped (tied maybe) around the bottom of the agitator. I have unraveled it as much as possible but believe it's knotted since it will not move when pulled one end or the other at this point. Did a search but did not find anything on removing agitator for a Maytag. I have a little tinkering skill to hopefully remove the agitator to get the knotted belt out. Please help. Thanks. Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 8/13/2008(UTC) Posts: 3,097		Quinn, The easiest way it to pull the agitator. Remove the fabric softener cap, look down inside the top of the agitator remove the bolt and remove the agitator. Hope that helps you get her belt back ;o) Nat

Pulling it was the key. Anyway, once off, it was a breeze to unscrew and yank the agitator off to get access to the knotted robe belt. (Not sure if I could have tied a stronger knot than this machine tied :eek: LOL). Thanks so much for your guidance. Quinn
