How often should a freezer cycle on and off? Mine stays on for about 17 minutes then turns off for about 9 minutes and then back on. These times fluctuate +- a minute. Is this about right or is it staying on too long and turning back on too soon?

If your temp is OK, Don't worry about it!!!! The run time is governed MANY factors,Some of which, you control, and some you can't It sounds about right, Don't worry!!!

The model number on the inside on the door is Model 25358. I also found another number which is 106.8253581.

It's pretty full. The whole problem started when the compressor got too hot and the relay was clicking and not letting the compressor turn back on. I'm not sure what caused it. It almost acted like the door was left open but it wasn't. I have been checking it for over a week now. I put a fan on the back pointed toward the compressor and it seemed to help. I turned off the fan today and it has been cycling as stated in a prior post. I'm just not sure if it is okay or if there is something wrong with it. The temperature inside is about 2 degrees.

Clean your coils very good and test your start device, I think that's where your problem is, there's full discriptions posted in another thread if you need them..... Nat

Nat,
The coils are clean so that isn't an issue. I don't know how to test the start device. It starts and stops okay but seems to run longer and more often then it should.
Abbie,
I have never timed a freezer before so I didn't know if the cycles were normal or not.
Thanks

Well unless the've changed math it's running almost 66% of the time. Are you in and out of the freezer a lot? If it's starting & stopping ok now, lets check the door seal. take a dollar bill and close it in the door all the way around, if it pulls out easily then that may be causing it to cycle more. Is the start device still clicking a lot? Nat
