hello,
i have a maytag microwave oven model # mmv5000bab. i was heating something and heard a popping sound. the microwave has power to it, since the display pad and turnable work but it will not heat anything. i was told there was a fuse in it that could be replaced.
is there a fuse and what does it control, just the fan, the whole oven? i would like to order the fuse but i am not sure where it is located and how to replace it? do you have instructions on how to replace the fuse, if that is the problem? do you have a simple repair manual or sheet that would show how to replace the fuse?
how do i troubleshoot to make sure that it is indeed a fuse problem and not the whole microwave shot?
thanks in advance for any help david welch valparaiso, in

david welch valparaiso, in David, Yes, there is a fuse in the unit, but that is not the problem. If the fuse was blown, the unit would be inoperable(dead, no display, turntable, etc). I fear you have a problem in the high voltage component(s)or wiring harness. I personnally do not reccomend, that a consumer or DIY'r attempt to repair a microwave, due to the high voltage hazard of the components that need to be accessed, removed, tested,or replaced. I apologize, but I do not have access to a PDF service manual(either) for this unit and cannot attach it as you requested. Good Luck,
