So my wife calls me at work saying she cleaned the microwave in the morning and everything was fine. She then tried looking at the clock on the microwave a few hours later and it was blank. The lights don't come on and the buttons don't do anything.

She said she used some cleaning wipes and did not spray the insides of the unit.

I tested the outlet and it is fine. I also used an extension cord and went to another outlet (on another circuit) and it won't do anything.

Where should I start?

I had the same exact problem, if the oven is operated with nothing in it this happens. Check part number 61, it say thermostat but is more a thermal protector, kills power to the oven if there's a fire. The switch should be always closed, if open it's bad.

It's in the upper right side, a small hand could reach it, I took my oven out to remove the shell to get to it, pretty easy fix.
