For over 2 months I have waited while a repair shop tried to "fix" my 2 year old dishwasher. The tech came, I told him what was going on and he order a control panel, ribbon and control electronic(board). I waited 6 weeks and he had ordered the wrong part. Mine has a cancel and start button, the one he ordered did not. He then reordered the new parts and again 2 weeks later received same part again! I'm taking over now! This is what is going on;

Kitchen Aid KUDP02FRSS1 2 years old

the ONLY buttons that will light up are 4 hr delay, heat dry and control lock.

I can get the cancel button to light up and it will drain.

I can't get the dishwasher to start and run except for the cancel/drain

I can get the control lock to work but I can't get it to turn off unless I unplug it for a while.

Can someone help me ??? Where can I find the tech sheet info on my dishwasher so I can test it and find out which parts I really need so I can fix it my self??

TIA for all your help!

Your control panel by your model number should be AP3873588 ($133.35)- control board is AP4309110 ($ 72.73) and the ribbon is AP3868468($29.87).
Now for your dishwasher....the tech sheet should be inside the control panel or on the bottom kick plate. As long as he put it back that is. I will try to look it up for you as well.

Here is a diagnostic off your tech sheet.

NOTE 1. To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle,
perform the following key presses in less than
6 seconds while in standby:

Heated Dry ➙ Normal ➙ Heated Dry ➙ Normal

Alternative entry method if user interface is not
functional: Unplug thermistor or OWI sensor
2 times while user interface is unplugged (no IDs
or keys present).

■ To rapid advance one interval at a time, press
the Start/Resume key.

■ Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status
and last ran information from memory and
restores defaults; It also forces the next cycle to
be a sensor calibration cycle.
Calibration cycles begin with a “sensor check”
to determine whether the dishwasher has an
OWI soil sensor or not. If the control detects an
OWI, it forces two rinses to occur prior to Final
Rinse (to assure clear water), then calibrates the
OWI during the final rinse.

NOTE 2. Turn on all LEDs immediately upon
receiving entry sequence (even if door open) and
throughout this first interval as a display test.

NOTE 3. On numeric time display models,
display the following software information after
the initial display test:

■ Interval 18 – Dishwasher control platform
number (“d3” Raptor/Tall Tub, “d2” Cheetah/
Briva, “d1” Rush/Tall Tub, “d0” New Gen).

■ Interval 17 – Software generation number
(incremented for each release of software to
production).

NOTE 4. Thermistor (temperature sensor)
checks:

■ Turn Clean LED on if thermistor is in its normal
temperature range of 17°C–71°C (62°F–160°F).

■ Turn sanitized LED on if thermistor is above
37°C (100°F).

NOTE 5. OWI (optical soil sensor) checks:

■ Check OWI sensor for the presence of clear
water during the 5 sec. pause in interval 13 and
turn on the Clean LED in interval 12 if clear water
detected.

■ Check OWI sensor for the presence of air
during the last 5 sec. of Drain interval 3 and turn
on the Clean LED in interval 2 if air detected.

■ Check OWI sensor for presence of bulk soil in
the water during pause interval 10; execute max.
allowed APFs and turn on Clean LED in interval 9
if bulk soil detected.

NOTE 6. Heater relay must lag wash motor
relay by 1.5 sec. at start-up of heated wash
intervals to avoid simultaneous heater and

motor in-rush current.

Post your results.

This disherwasher stop mid cycle when Dear husband opened it to see if it was done.

After pricing out a new dishwasher I ordered the new control board and replaced it as I guessed that was what was wrong. BTW your parts were shipped quickly and I love your parts service! I had the round fuse checked and the ribbon and control panel were also replaced. This is what is happening:

I ran the test of HI scrub..heat dry,,Hi scrub..heat dry.
These are the lights that light up. Rinse only, Hi temp dry, Sani rinse, heat dry and 4 hour delay with cancel, start, control lock, santized and clean lights are on.

I then clear all the lights by pressing cancel and then press Heavy Duty wash (this light does not light up) and the Heat dry lights up. Clear again and then press the next cycle, Normal wash(no light) and again the Heat Dry lights up, again push clear and then press light China wash(no light) and again the Heat Dry lights up but when I push the last wash cycle, quick wash, nothing lights up. When I press Rinse only this lights up and I push start and close the door quickly and nothing happens.

With all lights off I press start and the the light blinks. Nothing happens.

Anyone got a clue???

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL KUDP02FRSS1 UNDERCOUNTER DISHWASHER | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

Do not know if I can be much help here.
The tech sheet I come up with seems to have a different diagnostic routine from what you are doing.
I would try removing power from the unit for 5 minutes or so to see if it will reset.
