You will need the tub bearing kit AP244279 and seal kit AP253016 and the spanner wrench AP3538707. Use the web site www.applianceaid. com for info on this dependable care washer. You can use vice grips to pull off the tub springs, no need for spring stretcher tool.

I am about to repair an up right washing machine Maytag Model Lat9416aam. I think that I lost a part an I will need a new one maybe.
I got a drawing of the transmission vertical shaft after the inner tub is removed. The transmission shaft ends with a thick bronze washer and then there is a nylon collar (labeled 18 on drawing) that fits over it to lock it in place Next I see a ring labeled 14 in my drawing. I can't see this ring part after I took the collar off .. Is it because the part got lost or distroyed? I see the part in the online catelog as being numbered AP4024634 and it is called a seal. Is this seal maybe underneath the bronze washer? And that is why I can't see it? Or does it go ontop of the bronze washer and then I need to buy a new "seal" from the parts store?
Any help to tell me where this seal part goes will be appreciated. Thanks
