I have Kenmore Elite 106.54606300 side by side refrigerator. Ice is not dispensed upon pressing the lever for ice. Motor doesn'e hum or spin yet the light comes on and the top cover where ice comes out for is open. I think this is motor problem. So I took the motor out. It is a Whirlpool 2252129 model. (when I took it out it had lots of water and it kept on dripping water for minutes.) It has five pin terminals where a ribbon electrical wire coonects with five terminals. I checked the motor with digital meter and (starting from left to right) meter showed 294 ohms on first two terminal, 3rd and 4th -open (OL) and 4th and 5th 12.8 ohms. For cheking ribbon terminals- I found first two Zero ohms(short), rest were open. I thought all terminals on ribbon shall be open. I don't know exactly what to look for - Is the motor bad? or the Ribbon wire of something else I need to look for. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Most likely the problem is a bad front panel assembly, not the motor. You can find the complete troubleshooting instructions in the Service manual. In order to provide the right part number fro the front panel assembly I need the color of the front panel. Gene.

Really appreciate your help, just one more thing-do you think that I should still go through those steps in service manual to check motor, sensor, switches and LED status lights patterns etc or just replacing the front cover panel would take care of this situation. Thank you.
