My HE3t started making a loud sound during the spin cycle. After I stopped the cycle and removed the clothes, I slowly rocked the drum. When I do that I hear what sounds like a marble rolling around under the drum. So here are my questions:
1) Is it possible that a marble from one of my boy's pockets could have gotten under the drum?
2) If so, how can I get it out?
3) If not, what else could it be?

Remove the kick panel under the door and remove the tub drain hose that goes from the tub to the pump. Look for something stuck in there.

Got the pump off and cleaned it out. There was some really nasty stuff in there including a formally white sock that is now grey/black, a small LED flashlight, and numerous legos. The "marble" is still somewhere under the drum. I tried tipping the washer back thinking that it may dislodge the item into the drain hole, however nothing happened - still in the same spot.

OK - I found it. After removing the door and front panel (and removing the seal from the drum. I was able to see the marble. It was stuck in between the drum and the outer water proof housing (not sure what that is called). But it was stuck in a spot where it would not funnnel down to the drain. For a while, I was totally at a loss as to how to get this marble out of there. The opening was too small for me to get my fingers down to it. And there was such a sharp turn to get to it, I was not sure any kind of tool would fit.
When my wife came home I had her look at it and she said that the marble looked like one of the steel balls from our son's Magnetix sets. So she went and got a 3 inch long flexible magnetic piece from the set and was able to fish it out. The only problem then, was we were not able to find an opening big enough to get it out. After several tries of moving the drum and trying different locations around the drum, I got a pair of pliers and was able to grasp the marble and the gently (well kinda) yank it out!!
Then, I spent the next 90 mintues putting everything back together. To my surprise, there were no parts left over. I am running a small load right now to check for leaks, etc.
Right in the middle of typing this, the washer started beeping at me. The error code was for lack of inlet water. After rechecking the connections, I opened the top. Apparently, I knocked the hot water inlet soliniod (sp?) electrical connector loose when I was putting things back together.
It's back in place now, I'll wait and see what other mistakes I might have made.
