I have an Amana electric dryer and a carpenters pencil got lodged between the dryer lint trap and one of the fins in the cylinder. The motor runs but the cylinder doesn't turn. I'm hoping the belt came off or needs to be replaced- can I get a copy of the service manual to see how to open this thing up and check it out?

Here is the service manual.

That's an interesting problem, so let us know what you find out, and if it is not the belt post back and let's see if we can help.

Good luck.

Thanks so much for the service manual! I had watched a video on youtube about how to install a dryer belt but the model they showed on the video required removal of the top of the dryer to access the belt- this dryer required removing the front bulkhead (a better design in my opinion). The belt was the only problem caused by the jammed pencil. I purchased a replacement belt from this web site- I ordered it on Monday and it came today- with the service manual it was a really easy job- my wife and I have 4 teenagers/ early 20's in the house with us so you can imagine what happens when the dryer is out for a few days- thanks for being there for us!
