My Whirlpool Microwave Model MH6150XHT will not heat food at all. Everything else seems to work properly but it does make a slightly louder than normal buzzing/humming noise. From searching these forums it looks like its probably the high voltage transformer or the magnetron. Is there a way to test them so I know I am replacing the correct part? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, from your description it's spot on with the behavior my microwave is demonstrating. Have you heard an answer to this problem? In the past, I've found it to be the mangetron. -Jerome Originally Posted by: jslindst My Whirlpool Microwave Model MH6150XHT will not heat food at all. I replaced the magnetron myself and fixed the problem. I think it cost around $200 and took about an hour to remove the mocrowave from the wall, replace the magnetron, and reinstall the microwave above the stove.
