My rental house drop-in range's oven and broiler just stopped working. It is a Kenmore range, model # 911.45565893. I can't find the model number referenced on the internet anywhere. It is probably more than 10 years old. The elements on top all work. The digital display is jibberish. I can get the display numbers though if this is an error code. Can this be repaired? Thanks!

Me neither. Did you try double checking it... maybe using a magnifying glass and flashlight?

Did you try disconnecting power from the appliance for a couple of minutes to see if maybe the control would reset?

I don't know what you're saying there. It WILL display number???

BTW. No failure in the appliance with affect the readability of the display. If the control display is not readable, the control is likely defective and needs to be replaced.

Thank you for replying. I called the tenant and every line on the display is lit, meaning it just says 888888888. It went to that and the oven and broiler just wouldn't turn on. I have not unplugged it and replugged it in as it's a drop-in and I couldn't pull it out by myself. Doesn't sound like there's much hope for it since I can't find the model number listed anywhere. I am able to clearly read the model number and serial number on the inside of the top, under the elements. How can I figure out the control needed? Barb

Try just turning off the breakers for the range in the house breaker panel.

You'll have to call Sears and get them to look it up for you... unless you have the original owner's manual which on Kenmore products often contains a parts list you could look it up in.
