Kenmore Model 110.29522800 Series 500. The spin cycle after the wash cycle works okay. However, it will not spin correctly after the final rinse cycle. Usully, after rinse, the machine will spin slowly, then stop, then spin a little faster, then stop, then spin at the fastest spin rate. Sometimes, this last spin dosen't occur. You can hear the motor trying to spin the drum but it acts like the brake has not released. If I lift the lid up and down, the spin will start up and complete the job.
I watched how to replace the brakes. However, will this cure the problem?... or is it only caused by some dirt build-up or a weak spring, etc?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Mike

Hi,
**110.29522800**
A direct drive style washer.
What is -suppose- to happen is the water drains out and the washer pauses and this pause allows the tranny to set up for spinning to occur. The pause is created by the timer. Pause not there or intermittent pauses is a timer issue. Pause is good but the tranny is not changing from agitation to spin is a tranny/gearbox issue. Weak/slow spin is often the clutch. Spinning and stopping may also be a clutch issue.
Not to confuse you further but you may have 1, 2 or 3 issues :(
All the best in your repair.
