My GE Profile gas oven JGB918BEK4BB is taking about 40 minutes to reach 400 degrees. Any help on what might be causing this?

Hi, Some things to check. Oven racks in the correct way (will hold the door open). Door closes ok. Burner holes not clogged or restricted (the whole burner ignites). Weak oven hot surface igniter (very common - need to check current/amp draw to find out if your is weak - should draw 3 to 3.5 amps to hold the oven gas valve open). Bad oven temp sensor (should ohm out at 1000-1100 ohms at room temp). Bad oven temp control (cannot really test this, have to eliminate everything else until that is the last part). If needed: LINK> Oven Hot Surface igniter. jeff sr. |
