I have a GE side by side freezer/refrigerator Model #GSS20IEPH WW. It has been making a loud whirring type of noise intermittently and the vertical section between the freezer and refrigerator where the doors close is very hot to the touch. Both the freezer and refrigerator seem to be working properly, keeping things frozen in the freezer and cold in the refrigerator, but I’m very concerned about the loud noise and the hot area. What could be causing this?
Any information you can give me would be so appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, ** the vertical section between the freezer and refrigerator where the doors close is very hot to the touch.** This indicates the hot condenser coils are getting too hot. Check the condenser coil for a dust build up. Check the condenser fan motor and condenser fan motor blade as these could make odd noises is bad or broken. They are down at the back beside the compressor. LINK> Condenser Fan Motor. jeff sr. |
