Hello,
My Kenmore 70 series washer, model number 110.20712990 is grinding when it is trying to drain water or in the spin cycle. It runs fine during the rest of the cycle just only when the water is draining or the spin cycle is on. I replaced the agitator dogs and the coupler as they both were ground down a bit but it is still making this grinding noise. I checked the clutch for tension and could barely move it and a video I watched said that is how it should be. I uploaded a video real quick till I find a better site for it. It should be up for a couple days atleast.

When I get home later I will take it all apart again to check but since I haven't found any videos with a similar intermittent grinding sound I just wasn't sure what it could be. I may just buy a new clutch to see but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Higginsdog, thank you for your question. Based on the video, it sounds and looks like the lower agitator WP389386 is slipping on the driveshaft. The agitator would need to be removed and the rear teeth inspected for indications of damage and slipping. If it is damaged, the lower agitator will need to be replaced.

Thank you! It is indeed the lower agitator. I took the whole thing off and ran a cycle and it gave me no issues or made a grinding sound. I will update this post once I get the replacement part and see how it all goes. Thank you again :)
