Seems that once fills up with ice it will not make ice again until i kill power for a few minutes and then put on fast ice

If the model number of your appliance could be provided, the most accurate information can be provided. Generally speaking, it sounds like the normal ice production mode may not be getting the ice maker cold enough to properly harvest.
