Hi All,

I have a Kitchenaid (KMHC319ESS-2) combo convention/microwave - has the usual door open/close inoperable issue.

I previously replaced the brackets and cams that hold the three microswitches (two upper and one lower). Worked for awhile, but became less reliable. Door open/close indication all the time now - inoperable.

So, was going to replace switches, but after reading a bit on it, and a few YouTube videos of folks who have replaced, the most intelligence one noted these are simply common switches that the appliance manufacturer has purchased based on specific function - normally open, normally closed and both contacts making contact - in other words these switches with three separate part numbers are the same switch with one of the tabs cut on the SPST on opposite sides depending on whether they are normally open or normally closed.

So, has anyone simply replaced these with something like the Omron D3V-16G-1C25? Just need to make sure you hook up wiring correctly - easy to figure out though since the positions of the wires to use are different. Same amp rating - and a FAR more reliable, higher quality switch.
