I was given the above model gas dryer for repair due to a bad drum roller. When I took it apart I also found the t-stat on the burner tube partially destroyed due to a mechanical problem. This t-stat has a rating to my knowledge of 255-40 degrees (F). I have many of the thermal fuse type devices in my junk box which are in good condition. These dont fit in the same opening on the burner tube as the 510702 type but I am asking other techs if the thermal fuse type will do the job also (if I make it fit in the opening). Opinions are requested.
