If after drain/pause/restart for spin, the clutch hub is not spinning, it's a gearcase issue. Great explanation and advice! After reading up on this and what "Neutral drain" means, I discovered my no-spin "problem" is perfectly normal. I was expecting the tub to start spinning as soon as the drain phase started after agitation and after rinse. In reality, the tub is supposed to drain first without spinning, pause, then spin. Moral of the story: Don't expect the washer to spin until after the tub is fully drained.

Sometimes it's really simple... I had this exact problem and after a lot of research into possible causes just tried removing and reseating the timer connectors and the lid switch connectors... fixed. You're welcome.
