Now in 2022. Same thing happened here, with a D3122 (D20.1). They called a repairman trained to Asko, who wanted them to change the control board. $$$ Can't believe that he did not know the issue with the flow meter, after all these years on the market.
I found the reprogramming procedure to time-fill in the service manual, and everything worked fine afterwards.
My feeling is that the meter-fill mode is present in order to meet eco standards like Energy Star. The meter is a sort of plastic turbine with a magnet and a reed relay. Either it stops turning because of dirt, or because of wear. Going to time-fill avoids the replacement of a quite expensive valve-meter combo, and it shows that the rest of the (a pretty nice) dishwasher works correctly.

I just had this issue with my D3122 dishwasher.
It was not a fill issue, or a pressure sensor issue, or a heater issue.
It was the 16 microfarad capacitor on the side of the circulation pump that failed.
It was all of 14.00 and 10 min to replace.

You can keep trying to reset things, bu without knowing what you are doing, you will be wasting your time.
