Our dryer was getting to hot so I changed the thermostat and cutoff with your cutoff-TML kit. After installing the kit I noticed the element comes on as soon as the timer is turned on even with the door open. I pulled and checked the element to see of it was grounded in some way but couldn't find anything. The element comes on even after unplugging the wire to the motor. Do you have any suggestions?

There is no model number, so I don't know which machine you have.

I would guess that if you have electronic controls, its probably a stuck relay on the board.

If you have a mechanical timer, its probably a contact welded together inside the timer.

Unless you wired it up wrong by accident. You'll need to do some testing to figure this out.

PS I don't work here and have no control over anything on this site. I just volunteer some time now and then, to try and help people.

Odds are that it is a grounded heater element.
