We have a Kenmore elite refrigerator that only makes ice when it is moved to the middle of the room. Before I start troubleshooting a solution, I am seeking advice.
Situation: We've rolled the fridge out several times and it makes tray after tray of ice until we push it back and then it will dump one more tray and stop. The water dispenser works all the time. You can hear whirring sounds like ice being made, but no ice is made. I haven't yet tried different distances from the wall to see if there is a distance it starts or stops making ice.
I have two theories 1. The water line gets kinked or is at an angle that stops the flow when it is against the wall which doesn't entirely make sense because the water continues to dispense.
2. The temperature is too cold because of airflow when next to the wall
What do you think will solve the problem? If it's the water line being kinked, what is the best solution? Should I try attaching it to the back, holding it at different angles when pushing back? I can't see any kicks or bends, but it's hard to see anything as it's wedged between cabinets too. It's going to be tricky to change the angle of the line because of the access.
If it's the airflow, there aren't many options because the fridge is in a traffic area of our kitchen.
What do you think?

What is the temperature in the freezer? It should be somewhere around 10 to 0 degrees F to make ice. If its warmer than 10 F it could be part of the problem.
