I have an 18 year old kitchen aid refrigerator model -- ktrs21kmbt00 where it is not defrosting. I see it could be the, temp sensor, heating element, or the control board. I would like to force a defrost cycle so I can see if the control board even tries to pass voltage to the heating element. The tests for the heating element and temp sensor appear easy but I am not sure how to verify the board works before I put in a parts order. I guess I could test contunity of the heating element then just directly connect the wires that go to to the temp sensor together and force a defrost cycle.
How to I start a manual defrost on this refrigerator?
