People are throwing these $2000.00 fridges out because they claim they have so many problems that they are not capable of paying to get them fixed.

Kind of like -if it's not one thing it's another.

I have a wild idea, and it looks like I just received the package. The interest is through the roof.

I am building a smartkegger for my home brews. Lagers take a cold fermentation tank to do the right yeasting. They have a lot more protein in them than a standard beer, anyway, this fridge is perfect for my project, and I am on other boards.

The sensor on the fins which are supposedly freezing up, tested good, and the only problems I have now is 1. The compressor is completely empty of freon(vac test going on as we speak to identify leaks) and 2. The inverter board LED(it flashes codes that help diagnose problems with this scientific experiment) Doesn't flash codes. There is power to the board, and I can get a new one.

Now I live out in the sticks, so the brew thing I am making is priceless, but just because I want one, or plan to build one, doesn't mean it's anyone else business.

With laws that say things like, "Only a trained monkey can work on this..." are nothing but trouble to a master handyman like myself, and I think that's why this fridge is being tossed in the "transfer station". I was taught by the best I could get, and if anyone thinks different, all they have to do is tell me and I can change.
But what I won't do is wait for an entire religious persecution to figure it out. I don't care much anymore, because I build stuff, and I know what it takes. It is so complex and often hard that when you finish it you don't even want to share it. So wrong on everyone.

Ever hear of a patent? It's so that people can learn about new inventions, and how stuff works, - Not so that no one else can do it. My grandfather patented the wagon brake.

I have a dumb question for you. Is 134a a stable freon that can be used as a replacement in all refrigeration systems, or is it specially manufactured for each application?
ie. Is the AC 134a ok for refrigerators or am I on my own again?
