Since getting an inspection to look for a small leak, the oven no longer lights up. I replaced a piece of "Soft copper" with a stainless flex line, from the shutoff valve to the gas inlet on the safety valve. I believe the tech did something on the safety valve, as he mentioned the oven would no longer work, but the burners would, implying there was an override on the valve to keep it from opening. Did not see what he did but pretty sure I hears him flick something with his finger or a tool. After replacing the flex, I lit all 4 burners and let them run till the burned evenly, less than a minute. I've tried the oven several times. The igniter glows orange pretty quickly, about as orange as I get rusty bolts or nuts when persuading them to play nice. I never hear the valve click. Been searching for some hints but there really does not seem to be any reference to such a thing. There is a white-ish plastic cap on the valve with a "nub" in that looks like it could maybe rotate, but it does not move easily. A lot of markings on the valve, but cannot make them out. WP9755424 is the part number. BTW, the leak was so small it was only seen by a pressure drop test. Could not really find it but it was isolated to the stove. Could smell it, not see it by bubbles or electronic sniffer. Since installing the flex tube, one a "why not", so far no smell of the leak. Edited by user Wednesday, August 10, 2022 3:53:04 PM(UTC)
