For about 2.5 years I’ve owned a Bosch 300 Series Compact Condensation Dryer 24''
Model Number (E-Nr): WTG86400UC/08

It works wonderfully, but in a moment of stress I slammed the door and broke the latch. The door does not have anything to grab onto so it does not stay closed.

I’d like to attempt the repair myself. The parts are in stock at appliancepartspros. Before I order, though, I want to make sure this repair is straightforward. It’s not clear to me from -> Bosch’s repair diagram <- whether the latch simply pops into the white plastic door cover, whether it screws on, or whether I would need to take off the entire front of the dryer to connect the latch to the dryer’s wiring. I don’t feel comfortable attempting that third option.

I can't see my own latch because it fell into the body of the dryer itself after the door slammed.

The part numbers I’m talking about are 0214 (latch) and 0227 (cover) on the diagram.

Alternatively, if anyone is a member of Appliantology and can get me the service manual (linked here), I'd appreciate it. It costs $250 to join, which I'd rather not spend as I'm not a repair professional.

thanks for your help
