NEWBIE HERE - I searched and checked ahead.
OK - Whirlpool/ Kenmore washer 110.22952-100, 18 years old top load, direct.
LOVE THE MACHINE.
50% of the time it does not spin. Everything else works, agitates, drains well, fills well.
Light burning smell when it does spin.
If it doesn't spin, I wiggle the basket back and forth. Then turn it back to spin mode and 75% of the time it will then spin. If not I wiggle it again more forcefully and it will spin when I close the lid.
Based on other posts:
1) I changed the coupler. The old one was fine, no damage at all. Changed it anyway. Problem persists.
2) I checked and cleaned around the basket (no socks or other obstructions).
HELP!
