Last week the fridge was getting warm and ice maker quit making ice. First checked the condenser coils and noticed they were fairly dirty (cat hair), so cleaned them and continued to monitor the temperature. The next morning checked both the freezer and fridge temperatures and both were about 11 deg Celsius warmer than set point.

Pulled the freezer apart and noticed evaporator coils were iced up for at least the top 1/4. Pulled the refrigerator apart and found its evaporator coils were almost completely iced up. Defrosted both coils and checked the following components:

- Freezer heating element had continuity
- Both Freezer and Fridge thermistor had continuity.
- Freezer defrost thermostat had continuity when temperature dropped low enough, sprayed it with upside down bottle of air duster to freeze it.
- Freezer and Fridge bi-metal contactor switch had continuity
- Both the freezer and fridge evap fans would receive power and turn on
- The condensor fan had power and would turn on

Plugged the fridge back in and the following day the freezer was reaching the set temperature (-18 deg celsius) however the fridge was only getting to around 12 deg celsius and was set for 3 deg. Let it sit longer and the following day the fridge jumped between 10-13 deg celsius. Left another day and it did get down to 3 deg celsius but shortly after opening the door it jumped back up and hovered around 6-7 deg celsius.


I then pulled the fridge's thermistor and checked its resistance at a couple of different temperature and it seemed good. 2850 ohms at 22 deg C (72 deg F) and 4300 ohm at 14 deg C (57 deg F). Also there were no signs of ice building up on the fridges evap coils.

Not sure what the root problem is or what to check next? Is this a control board issue and if so which control board, WPW10453401 or WPW10589837? Is there a way to test these, any help is greatly appreciated!
