My friends just purchased a home that has a range hood none of us are familiar with. It looks as if it has been repainted at one point covering up the area where I believe was either a name plate or a switch assembly, it just looks like a blank recantgular indentation on the upper right section of the hood right now. We cannot figure out how to turn the fan or light on the hood- no switches anywhere, on the hood itself or on the wall. There is a product tag on the front of the fan housing listing a model number of 1600T and below that we can make out Swanson MFG Co. in Washington. The home was originally built in 1968 and we think this may have been there since then. We were wondering if the original range in the home may of had controls for the hood on the range itself? We do see the electrical conduit in the cubbard above so it does appear to have been wired up with electricity. The filter screen is also missing so we were also wondering if there are any replacements available for this hood too.
