Got a call today about a gas oven that "sometimes" wont light. 90% of the time it works fine but on rare occasion it wont light. If it was as simple as the oven wont light, thats a no brainer igniter replacement. But this "occasional" issue makes me scratch my head. Could it be an igniter or do i need to look at other issues?

It could be the igniter is getting weak. Is it 5 or more years old or has it been used a lot?
