GE Microwave, model JNM1541DM5WW, hums when door closed. Sounds like either a coil in a relay is stuck, or the HV xfmr is humming. Microwave still heats. Checked door switches, all three are in correct state with door open/close as the manual states (checked with a fluke multimeter).
are the relays on the control board supposed to be normally open or closed?

Checked the large relay on the board, contacts were closed with door open, power off. Schematic indicates they should be open. Tapped the relay with screwdriver, now the contacts are open and microwave works normally. Seems contacts were welded. Can I replace just this relay or is it integral to the board?

If you can find a suitable replacement and unsolder the old one, then you can just replace the relay. Check Mouser and Digakey for relays
