My husband just replaced the motor on our Roper dryer. It's model number is EL 6050VW0, and I have no idea how old it is as we bought it from a lady 3 years ago and didn't ask. At the time it worked and it was in our shoestring budget.

A little while back, it stopped working. I went through and tested everything with a multimeter and we concluded it was the motor. We found an inexpensive replacement and my husband put it in while I was at work. Now the dryer buzzes when he plugs it in. If he turns the timer off of "off", it hums like it should be running but the drum doesn't turn. Again, this is just by plugging it in. The only way to make it stop is to unplug it. I haven't found anything similar in my searches online. I think it may be a wiring issue, but I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions.
