My Maytag dryer would not start a couple of days ago so I assumed the vent was clogged and the thermal fuse was blown. I went ahead and ordered the fuse kit. I found the thermal fuse was blown at the heating element. I replaced it and the cycle thermostat and then I completely cleaned the vent and vacuumed out the entire unit. I verified there were no clogs anywhere and when I restarted it I verified there was ample air movement coming from the outside vent. Within 20 minutes it blew the same fuse. I again took the dryer apart and recleaned it although there was nothing left to clean. I replaced the fuse again and the same thing happned. What am I missing? The fan is working, air is moving, there are no obstructions causing a build up of heat, and I replaced the cycle thermostat. Could the cycle thermostat I replaced be faulty causing the heating element to get to hot and continue to blow the thermal fuse?
