whirlpool timer defrost W10822278
These kind of timers have a plastic screw on the back....you can turn them to get a fridge started again if it doesnt turn on after a defrost cycle or if its taking too long...
anyway what is the proper way to set this screw for normal use...??
do you turn it to the right or left or what???? Can a fridge tech give me some info on this...

The defrost timer is just a clock with a cam that activates a set of switches. It runs in refrigeration for a set number of hours (probably 8 hours), then it switches to defrost for around 21 to 30 minutes depending on the timer. Then its back to refrigeration.

There is no need to set it or do anything with it unless you have a problem with defrost or want to test it. Just install it according to the instructions with it and power up the refrigerator. It will do the rest automatically.

Frigidaire 8-9 cf fridge freezer 2008 Model FRT 045 GM bought at Lowes.
Even if I get a new fridge, this was always too small, I want to keep this running for a back up.
