My vintage fridadaire refrigerator The compressor won't come on I think the year is about 1950 made by gm all I really need to know is what size the compressor

You didn't provide a model number or compressor number. So there is no way of knowing what compressor is in your machine or what the modern equivalent would be. Even if you did have the model number, its hard to find manuals or parts diagrams for 60 year old refrigerators. What are you wanting to do with the one you have? Was it working and then it quit?

It was working it quit we put a hard start on it and it started working 1year later it quit again hard start didn't work was told needed compressed was told 1/5 horse but cannot find that note the plate is missing the person working on it for me expert ac guy has fixed this type before and can replace it with a new compressed there is no plate on the compressor I have called gm their recordes only go back to 1994 haha I had it in my kitchen along with my 1949 okeef@ merrit and my cherry counters and metal sink with drainboard thanks for the help val
