We just bought a used roper washer for son's college apartment but it won't start. I have checked the power and also tested the lid switch to be good. Timer Switch knob won't stay out when we try to select a cycle, it says pull to start/push to stop but it doesn't stay out when we pull on it. Not sure what to look at next, I'm willing to replace it timer but want to test other items first before I spend $$. Any assistance is appreciated. Timer part number W10199989. Thanks.

Ok, I have been able to verify that timer switch is staying in the pulled out position so it must be something else. I don't hear/see any indication of any power to the washer although I have tested the plug outlet.

A real model number would help.

Have you checked inside the control panel to see if power is getting all the way to the timer? Also check all the selector switches (if you have them). Sometimes they can be between cycles or settings and not work.

Not sure what you mean by a real model number, the back of the washer says W10339551 which is what I provided in my topic post. Please assist if there is another more helpful number I can provide, thanks.

I'm not sure how to check power to the timer, any guidance is appreciated. Selector switches appear to be operating, I only checked them mechanically.
