Hi All, My Kenmore 500 series washer (model: 110.29532800) will no longer spin or drain. The washer will fill with water, but when it gets to the spin cycle, I hear a humming from the motor, but no spinning.
I do not think it is control panel related, because the same behavior is observed on different settings.
I do not think it is the lid switch, because when I open the lid, the humming noise stops.
I do not think it is the water level sensor, because it will fill with water and then no longer fill after that (even if you try to get it to).
My googling led me to believe that it was the motor coupling that went bad. I replaced that the other night, and it still will not spin.
Does anyone have any other ideas? I would prefer not to pay someone to come out or buy a new washer.
Thanks, Alex

Try pulling the pump free of the motor and securing it off to the side. Then bypass the lid switch and see if the motor will run.
If it runs, there is something stuck in the pump.

If it runs, there is something stuck in the pump. Right, I didn't think about the pump being seized up; good point.
