Moved into new apartment that old friend has.. So i thought i was doing him a favor as igniter on oven was glowing but took way to long for gas to flow.
So i purchased a new igniter (amazon) and went to replace. But i got real stupid and forgot to unplug oven..
So as i cut one wire and wire cutter hit metal oven floor it thru a few sparks and i got jolted.. So i unplugged stove and wired in new igniter.
NOW the new igniter does not work. So i tried a second one and same results..
So i had cheap digital meter( not sure how good it is) and i thought it showed 120 volt on one side of gas valve. ??.
So i found my good Fluke meter a few hour's ago and checked gas valve and it is open circuit. No continuity at all..
I posted on youtube and guy there said i should post here as he said there shouldnt be 120v to gas valve.. ( Ill recheck that voltage)
Any input will be helpful guy's.

The gas valve and ignitor are in series with the thermostat/electronic control. It all works on 120 volts AC.

Thanks for diagram. As i thought, there is suppose to be 110-120 volt to gas valve.. On youtube a guy said i may have crossed wire's .And there was not suppose to be that current to it.. Dont think he understood what i had done and not done... I just had shorted wire to ground. And i have my new igniter installed correctly. (now). Waiting on new gas valve now, as it has no continuity thru it.. Looks like i wiped it out when i shorted the wire to ground..
Again thanks for diagram. :)

I'd say you are on the right track. Usually as the ignitor glows brighter it allows more amperage to reach the gas valve which should open at 3.2 to 3.6 amps. Unlimited amps probably burnt out the gas valve coil.
