Hello, We have an Amana DRS2663BW refrigerator that will not cool. I have checked the following: 1. Cleaned evap coils (they were very dirty) 2. Verified evap fan is working 3. Verified condenser fan is working 4. Verified Temperature Control Thermostat appears to be working
When I turn the knob from Off to on and start rotating it for cool setting, I hear a click and it appears something is attempting to start (lights dim just a bit and fan noise changes just slightly). After about 15 seconds, whatever it is stops and the fans continue to run. I have not checked continuity on the compressor, but could the click indicate the start capacitor is bad? Thank you for your time.

Or I guess it could also be the overload relay device as well. Is there any way to tell which one it could be? Thanks

Answered my own question. Checked the compressor and it was fine. Checked the capacitor with a meter and it was fine. The overload relay rattled, so I took it apart to find a bunch of burnt parts..
