Drum spins clockwise on wash cycles. Recently replaced tub and bearing seals. Could this have placed stress on possibly a failing transmission or could it be something else? Tub spins counterclockwise in spin mode and rinse and fill modes are OK. Thank You, Bob

I haven't seen one of these in a long time. I remember when they were brand new.

Before you go replacing the brake assembly, check something for me. Watch the video on the brake removal. Pause it at 2:00, what you see is the big drive pulley. on the other side of it is a bearing. You can see that at 2:45.

That bearing often gets stuck or gummed up. Also the spiral threads that the pulley goes on can get gummed up. That makes the pulley go up and release the brake, but when the motor reverses it doesn't come back down. So the brake stays released.

Get some paper towels and WD40 and clean up the spiral shaft, pulley bearing, and inside of the pulley. Re-lube with a little light grease.

Just make sure and put the stop back on right. 4:08 on the video.
