I have a Kitchenaid Superba KSCS25INSS01 that keeps cycling on and off and the temps are about 10 degrees higher than they should be but holding. In reading about the problem and solution, it points to the start dev relay and I ordered the appropriate part listed for it from here. That part was for an EGY80/EGY90 compressor but when I opened the back up it has an Embraco VEGY 7H compressor with an inverter board next to it. Apparently, this is a 2nd generation upgraded compressor. What inverter board do I need for this compressor? I cannot even find a VEGY 7H on this site. It has an VCC3 1156 08 A 02 inverter board but it looks like those aren't made anymore. Is a Whirlpool W10449006 Inverter the proper one? The inverter for your unit is listed under the unit parts diagram, number 36. Here is the link directly to the part. Sounds more like an airflow or thermistor issue to me...

Thanks for the reply cbm. I haven't looked too much into other symptoms since everything I've researched on it points more to the start dev relay or in this case an inverter board. The fans work and everything is dust free now. I can hear the frige clicking and cycling on but clicking and cycling off shortly after. When it cycles on the motor starts up and then shuts down when it clicks off Over the past week, it has been doing this faster and faster. The temps are 17 degrees freezer side and 47 fridge side. The compressor is pretty warm to the touch but I'm guessing it's from the constant cycling? Would the thermostat cause these issues?

Open the freezer and take a close look at the back wall. All up and down it. Is there any frost anywhere on it? How handy are you with an ohm meter? May want to ohm out the thermistors to rule them out. This unit is inside the house in a conditioned space?

There is no frost on the inside back wall. This fridge is inside so it's in conditioned air. I don't have an ohm meter so that rules that out. Since you seem to think it's a thermostat issue, I might as well order that and the inverter board and change out the board first to see if that solves it. If not, then I'll put the old one back and change out the thermostat and send back whichever part isn't needed. I just need to get it done quick whatever it is.

Electronic parts are generally not returnable. It's not that suppliers are greedy, it's that the boards will program themselves for a specific model when powered up in that model. After that, they can't be used on another model. That being said, if you can't test things out to determine what the issue is, you may want to have a tech come diagnose it. You could always buy the required parts and install them yourself if you wanted. A small diagnosis fee may be worth it to avoid buying parts you don't need.

The price to get a service tech to come out is half the price of the board so it's worth it to just get the parts and see which solves it especially since this site says you can return anything including electronics for a full refund. Thanks for the help, I'll keep you informed on the solution.

Well, the parts came in and it seems neither solved the problem. I replaced the inverter board and it didn'r seem to solve the problem. Unless it takes awhile for it to program itself? Then I changed the thermistor with the new inverter board and still nada. I might try putting the old inverter board back in and put the new thermistor in just to completely rule it out. With the new inverter, it almost seems like it wants to work because it will beep and start up and run then shut down. It does it again and runs longer each time. I can hear the fans running. What else could it be? The instructions for the inverter didn't have anything for the ground wire from the board to the fridge metal but I saw 2 prongs with a ground symbol on the inverter board so I slipped the wire over it and screwed the other end to the fridge where the old one went. There are 2 prongs for the ground wire on the box but only one ground wire... could this be the issue?
