Our washer is about 6.5 years old. Right now it will not agitate. When I put it on any cycle, it will do a half turn left, then right, then stop and start filling. It will keep filling the entire wash time and the basket never moves. Then it'll move into the rinse cycle and it will drain then fill, while the basket never moves. If I turn it to drain and spin, it will drain the water then spin.

I had a repairman here two days ago who told me to buy some affresh and run a basket clean. Which I did. But it's still not working properly. I tried getting into service mode to see if it gives me an error, but I can't figure out how to get it into service mode. I tried to check the pressure hose, but I can't figure out how to get to the bottom end of it.

Is there something I can do, besides calling another repairman in?

To enter the service mode on your model press signal, extra rinse, release then signal and extra rinse. (Pressing the same button sequence will exit the service mode. Do not disconnect power while in service mode!)
To enter the error code test mode on a GE front load washer, rotate the control knob until t02 is displayed in the control panel then press start/pause to enter the test mode. This is where all error codes are stored. Once you have entered the test mode, you will see the most recent error code that the control has flagged. If you press start/pause you will see the next recent error code. If you continue to press start/pause you can view up to the ten most recent error codes. Most of the time there will be only one or two. Let us know what codes you encounter.
