Hello, I have a top load Kenmore washer model 110. 21102011. Sometime during the spin cycle once the machine start to shake a little, the lid lock light starts to flash and the spin cuts out. Is there some sort of a vibration sensor that's malfunctioning? The diagnostic codes reads F5, E3. I've already tried replacing the lid lock assembly, but that didn't fix it. According to the diagnostic manual, the next step is to replace the main control. Is that my only option? Thank you.

Have you tried to unplug then reinsert connector J15 to the main control board? I have at times found that a loose connection may be all there is to a repair job. You might even then check for good continuity thru from the J15 connector to the lid switch. Having ruled all that out I'm afraid a main control board is in your future.
P.S. As I recommend to all of my customers, install a power surge protector to your washer. Just as we protect our home PC's, the new breed of washers are in essence a computer that are venerable to power surges. Remember to register the surge protector to begin any warranty it provides.
