Hi! My GE Profile model WLRR5000G0WW stopped spinning and agitating. I took the front cover off, the belt was off. It isn't broken or strained. I couldn't get it back on. I noticed the pulley is about 3/4 an inch LOWER than the grooved motor shaft. That can't be right? On inspection of the transmission shaft, I saw this: Circled in red - broken mess of springs etc. Is something that popped out of the transmission? Do I need to just replace the whole part? The camera lens here is level with the motor drive shaft - see how much lower the pulley is? Thanks if anyone has advice!

I'm not by any means an expert but my .02 cents would be to inspect to make sure the pulley on the bottom of the shaft is tight and flush, and the shaft is tight up top as well. Everything should line up since the shaft and motor are bolted on the platform. My guess is that something in that shaft assembly broke and the shaft slide down to misalign. Probably have to replace that shaft assembly. Hopefully a pro can give you advice soon and give a definitive answer. The more you can describe and troubleshoot, the quicker the answer should come.

That spring thing is a bearing cage looks like bearings are gone. I know this from automotive experience if you replace the bearing it should realign things. But I don't know to what lever these thing are replaceable. (Not much help being given on this forum from what I see).
