If I eyeballed it right, it looks like the end of the clutch spring is supposed to push against a plastic piece that seems to be attached to the tub and that I think is what makes the tub spin during the spin cycle. I pushed on the plastic piece by hand to make it rotate and it did make the tub rotate along with it.

Is this how it is supposed to work?

That plastic piece looks awfully small and flimsy to be driving a tub full of clothes to spin. It looks so flimsy that I would guess it would break in not a lot of time if it is supposed to drive the tub to spin.

it the tub will not spin replace the clutch because it is bad
