I have a Maytag Centennial washer that started spinning very fast (much faster than it did before) a few months ago. It then stopped spinning and agitating completely. I replaced the shift actuator, and the washer functions again now, but the spin cycle is still scary fast. Also, since replacing the part, the tub seems to be off balance; when filling, some water runs behind the tub and leaks out underneath the unit. I thought maybe the band that supports the tub was stuck from having the washer laying on its front, but it seems to be okay. Any thoughts?

When replacing an actuator you have to enter diagnostic mode and Re calibrate your washer. That may help also make sure the shocks aren't seized or blown
