I have a Maytag Centennial washer that started spinning very fast (much faster than it did before) a few months ago. It then stopped spinning and agitating completely. I replaced the shift actuator, and the washer functions again now, but the spin cycle is still scary fast. Also, since replacing the part, the tub seems to be off balance; when filling, some water runs behind the tub and leaks out underneath the unit. I thought maybe the band that supports the tub was stuck from having the washer laying on its front, but it seems to be okay. Any thoughts?
